It is my first time using blog to doing assignment in order to promote products and services. In fact, I found it would be more eye-catching than writing essay and be more interactive to audience. As it can contain both pictures and video shots, it is so useful to present the idea well.
The effectiveness of blog is mainly found for its interesting and popularity. It is rarely to find other media can compete with its interactive power. Blog can contain not only word and picture, but also video and the small community created. Blogger can use word to promote the experience after buying product including product's description, feedback after used. Blogger also can advertise their own products openly, or they can pretend a usual user of product. The video in the blog also can serve as a virtual tour for tourist spots if company are going to promote some tourist spots. It can describe the real circumstance in details which article cannot describe it all. As more and more people will be relying the word of mouth on the Internet, designing a outstanding blog is greatly contributed to the promotion of product or service.
Apart from these, there are numerous advantages of using blog to promote products and services instead of any other media. For instance, the comments of blog can create a small community to exchange our idea and share different thoughts. It involves interactive relationship between audience and me. And it shows effectiveness to improve the quality of article. For example, audience can pointed out mistakes in the article and points we may neglect.
Generally, it is easy to write article and design the layout of the blog. For writing parts, they even provide spell check and function similar to MS word. Besides, efficiency in uploading photo, video as well as posting hyperlink are helpful to blogger. Many gadgets also could be obtained to make the blog more interesting and enhance efficiency. Although this is my very first time to write blog, it only takes few minutes to get used to it. For example, I can choose to upload video on YouTube by either post the specific link directly or search the key words.
In the other hand, I was facing some difficulties, as there are something we have to pay attention to those sources of picture and video. We should assure that they are permitted to extract even though I took many photo in the blog. When I was surfing on the Internet in order to find related photo, there were many photo were reserved the right of being posted by the author. However, problems were solved easily as we had already credited the sources.
I would like to recommend people start using blog to promote anything, especially tourism products because audience would prefer read our blog to traditional magazine. And it is user-friendly oriented to construct a blog and more personal designated layout compared with social network web site. The tools supported by the blog are very useful and I have satisfied with it. However, using blog to promote tourism industry for people rarely use computer is not effective enough. Therefore, blog can serve as one of the best media, but still cannot replace all other media at the mean time.
